HD from Dish Network
68Cable television and satellite tv providers are fighting vigorously to become leaders in HD programming providers. Some claim to offer more than their respective competitors. One major cable provider was recently sued for false advertisement in a major US city. When it comes to high-definition programming, Dish HD takes the crown hands-down !
There was recently a disgruntled 27-year old cable subscriber who resides in Los Feliz, CA. He had recently purchased a 42-inch SONY, and had wanted to switch to a satellite tv provider like Dish Network. Unfortunately, the management of his apartment complex wouldn't allow the installation of satellite dishes on their premises. You see, this guy only gets about 16 channels in high-definition with his current provider. He knows that with a company like Dish Network, he would get far more, and be able to put his recent acquisition to good use.
Dish Network is contantly adding new HD programming to its already impressive lineup. You can get up to 45 channels in high-definition, not including the locals. Over 60 towns and cities now have their local channels such as ABC and NBC in HD thanks to Dish Network. Dish Satellite TV has unveiled three "HD packages"; dishHD Essential for $10/mo, dishHD Ultimate for $20/mo, and finally dishHD Base for $29.99/mo. If you select dishHD Base you get close to 50 channels in high-def. Compare that with the paltry 16 offered by the so-called leaders in HD programming. No wonder they got sued.
Dish Network is continually adding channels in HD and is striving to be the leader by the end of 2008.
