When one becomes a subscriber of Dish Network there is the option of getting a Dish DVR. For those who are unfamiliar with what a DVR is, here is a short definition. DVR stands for digital video recorder. A Dish DVR is basically a device that allows you to record, rewind, and fast-forward live television.

A Dish DVR has a hard-drive within itself and this feature allows the subscriber to record up to 100 hours of their favorite programming. Let's say, for example, you have a show that comes on at 4pm everyday and you absolutely cannot afford to miss it. The recorder will take care of that. All you have to do is program it to commence recording at 4pm. Just think of the DVR as a device that is way better than TivO.

One of the most well-known DVR's from Dish Network is the Dish DVR 625. The Dish DVR 625 is a two-tuner satellite receiver that is intergrated with a DVR (which essentially gives it recording capabilities). With just this one receiver one can watch and record different programming on two different television sets. You can also record two shows simultaneously whilst watching a third recorded one, all from one Dish DVR 625. The following are more features of the Dish DVR 625;

The Dish DVR 625 is also supplied with a universal, 4-component UHF remote control. This remote control can also be programmed to control up to 3 more electronic devices, such as a DVD player, VCR, or TV.
